DSP filter with crosstalk - Processing speed of DSD128 files dropped to <1x

I just installed DSP filter with crosstalk and it works fine in my setup.

The only problem is with DSP128 files (DSP64 is fine). Processing speed of DSD128 files dropped to <1x (see below)

I use an Intel NUC Comet Lake i7-10710U.

Is there anything that can be done to get it over 1 gain?

Disabling “native” DSD processing will save you a lot of computing power; you won’t lose anything in terms of quality.

Or get a silent PC with a potent desktop CPU, if you need to scratch that DSD itch - you didn’t cheap out on the rest of your system, did you?

DSD + DSP is not DSD anymore. You’d be scratching a prosthetic limb.

… almost spilled my coffee, laughing :heavy_heart_exclamation:

Move from a mobile/laptop CPU to a Desktop CPU would be my first suggestion.

THX @Rugby - If there is no easy fix than I will just dump the 3 DSD128 recordings that I have. DSD is not that important to me that I will buy a new desktop CPU. I am happy with my cirrus7 nimbini v3.

One last Q: Would a NUC 12 or NUC 13 (i7) have enough power?

THX

You don’t need to dump them, just disable native DSD processing.

Edited post to delete content, since I realized that I probably got up on the wrong foot today, sorry for that :heavy_heart_exclamation:

Phantom limbs do itch.

They sure do, but the scratching is just placebo.

Yup. Great analog for the high-end audio tweakers. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
