So my background … I saw the Cambridge Audio Edge system, had an in store sound check and fell in love … bought it! But getting home I’ve struggled to get the sound I like. Don’t get me wrong I love the system, so much so that I bough an EVO 150 and same set of speakers as the Edge for another room.
My problem is I’m “messing” with the EQ as I like a brighter sound but I get a lot of distortion on a lot of music (especially dance type music). I’d love some professional assistance … anyone know of a UK / London company who could help with optimisation ?
When entering positive gain for EQ filters, you have to pull down the vertical slider to the right of the graph window to have the white filter result curve stay at or below the 0dB line.
Otherwise, tracks that are mastered close to the digital max will be driven into clipping.
The same overall gain correction can be effected by enabling and entering an adequate value into the headroom setting.
