Till recently I could upsample on-the-fly using the DSP’s sample rate converter
All of a sudden, it doesnt work. While I can set my SRC preferences, when I playback it doesn’t make the change. Signal path continues to show Lossless
Odd!
My volume level for my end device (Microrendu) is fixed on the mR. iPad Roon version is 1.4 (build 294) and on my PC is the same version
Any suggestions/advice please?

Post a screen shot of your DSP settings.
You’ll need to enable the DSP Engine in the top left corner of the screen.
