DTS and DSD 5.1

I would like to see if Roon could fix this issue in a future update.
When playing DTS WAV 5.1 you need to have the audio setting on 2.0 speaker layout but when you play DSD 5.1 you need to set it back to 5.1.
It’s only a slight inconvenience but could there be a fix for it?
I have 2 audio zones coming from my Roon rock PC. 1 is 5.1 audio coming from hdmi to Yamaha 695 and 2.0 audio coming from USB into a dac then into analog inputs to Yamaha 695. Speakers are driven from an external power amp from Yamaha 695 pre outs.

I’ve encoded all my dts and dd resources as flacs and Roon will see this files only as stereo files, but plays it at multichannel with speaker settings as 5.1 or 7.1.

A DTS WAV (or FLAC, etc.) file is not technically 5.1 channel. For 1990s CD and S/PDIF compatibility, a DTS WAV file is two channel LPCM – until it is decoded. That requires bit perfect two channel LPCM transport.

Not much else that Roon can do here. And please do a forum search on “DTS,” as several threads already exist on this topic.

no, it requires in general a “bit perfect transport”.
You are right, that roon can’t know before encoding how many channels a dts or dd file has, but my wish for roon is, that this should work in the same way as for DSD in showing the numbers of channels.
