Some entries in Arc are duplicated. These are both files I own on my NAS and albums from Quobuz. They are not duplicates when I look in Roon. There does not appear to be any common thread
Can you please click on the Keeley Forysth album Debris in the screenshot above and share a screenshot of the Album-level page for that album? I’ve noticed that both versions in this screenshot are actually populating directly from Qobuz, rather than your local library. As far as I can tell, only one version if available from Qobuz, but we want to see if the two links to Debris above are linking to the same object in Qobuz.
Reopen #WGAJJR I thought I had replied but apparently not. Multiple repeat entries in ARC not in Roon interface. Both local files and Qobuz. I now have some with 4 separate entries - see screenshot.
and the problem is back. I have been away for a week and the entries have been replicating in the dark. 2,3,4 and 5 entries now for almost every album, in Arc app but not Roon.
Having the same problem in Arc. Someone reported it in early access two versions ago on this forum and several people have indicated they are experiencing the same problem, so it’s been around for a while.
This is a really annoying bug. Restarting the server seems to clear the duplicates, but then they just start appearing again. Really hoping you can figure out soon why this started happening and how to fix it. It makes scrolling through the album list in Arc a painful and frustrating experience.
These reports remain under investigation. We don’t have a fix in the pipeline that specifically addresses the symptom you’re reporting, but adjacent work may relieve this duplication behavior in the upcoming release. In either case, we’ll continue to track it down.
Are any of the duplicated album objects in ARC content that you recently added via a Playlist from a streaming service?
I don’t think any of the albums that are duplicated were added from a playlist on a streaming service. I only remember adding albums in the last few months after doing a search in Roon or by clicking or tapping on an album in the related section of another album.
The other thing I have done several times in the last few months is add albums by going to the album in my library from Tidal, selecting Versions, and then adding the version from Qobuz. Sometimes I have to group the albums, and then usually I choose the Qobuz version as the primary version.
These aren’t the only albums that have been duplicating, but as far as I remember they have been among the albums that have started duplicating.
Thank you @Fleet for the clarification. We’re making progress in our efforts with QA and developers to reproduce and pin down the cause. We’ll post our conclusions and any next steps here as soon as we can.
To fix my issue I closed out Roon Server on my Windows 11 machine, started it. In Roon remote force rescanned my library. Force closed Arc on my iPhone and then opened the app. Now all sorted.
Note: this is on a fresh install, new database and after exporting all my music from Roon and the importing them back in.
This is still continuing for me except now the problem is not temporarily going away when I shut down the Nucleus and reboot it. So far the largest number of duplicates in ARC is 5. Going for a PB
Thanks for confirming that this issue is still occurring for you. We are still investigating this issue with the assistance of our QA team, I have updated the thread title to reflect this.
Our team is still having difficulty reproducing this in-house, so we very much appreciate your patience.
In the meantime, if possible, could you please take note of a fresh timestamp when you first come across a duplicated album after a reboot of your Roon Server, clearing any previous duplicates?
