Hi ARUP,
I noticed a similar problem. Previous Roon versions had a set up command to ignore duplicate tracks - or hide them. I know that I accidentally ripped some tracks more than one time on my Mac Mini hard drive. Now, the duplicates are showing up as ‘parts,’ but if a song has 3 or 4 ‘parts’ it plays 3 or 4 times, even on random play. Not ideal.
Hang in and don’t worry. Roon is pretty awesome, I bought a lifetime membership, I am not an employee, owner, etc. and I am also not computer or computer audio savvy. But Roon folks are super-responsive. I think Roon 1.3 is a giant change, and anything that dramatic is going to have some bugs or glitches. It may take a while for them to get to fixing this…but I am confident that they will.
BTW, if like me you have multiple versions of the same track on your hard drive, it might be a question of how to permanently delete the copies. You can find some guidance on the Apple Help websites. Just be super careful in the process, and consider making a backup copy of your current library before proceeding. Folks who are more savvy than me may have better advice.
