Spent numerous hours updating and deleting duplicate albums on desktop computer with much success. However, I went on my iphone Roon app and the duplicates still exist. I have tried to: force rescan on computer and iPhone, went into Edit and Merge albums as well as a few other things but no success. It is important to note that my other ios devices have updated. Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks!
Both desktop and iPhone are presenting what is on the server, so you’ll need to understand why duplicate releases are displayed. Sharing a screenshot of Roon Settings → Storage would be helpful.

Before you delete anything, be sure that those are actual duplicates, not just visual ones. There is a known issue where sometimes albums are displayed twice or more although they only exist once for real. Then if you delete one of the visual duplicates you actually delete the one real object.
If you select one of the duplicates and all the other ones get selected, too, then the duplication is only visual.
Thanks, I checked every single album over several days. Several of the albums only listed one song off the album so I kept only the most complete versions. My issue is that I have about 3,200 albums NOT the 3,900 showing up on my iPhone. I’d like to clean it up if possible and have them synchronized across devices.
Here are screen shots of my situation:
- This my iphone information with # of albums
- This is on my computer:
- This is on my app which shows a different total.
The last two numbers are from the same device which makes this even wierder.
Most likely you have Settings > General > Browsing Preferences > Show Hidden Tracks And Albums set to No.
This means that different album versions are grouped into one album cover in My Albums. The versions are shown in the VERSIONS tab of the album.
And this in turn means that the number of albums on the My Albums page counts only the albums as such, not their versions. I.e., if you have 3 different versions of one album, it counts only as 1 on My Albums.
In contrast, the number on Home counts every version, so 3 versions of one album count as 3 here.
If you want to show every version separately on My Albums, which would also count them the same way as on Home, change Settings > General > Browsing Preferences > Show Hidden Tracks And Albums = Yes.
You can always switch between the two settings, it shouldn’t take long to update everything.
I followed your recommendation and now they all have 3335 and my phone is only showing one copy of each album. Thanks so much for the assist @Suedkiez
