I asked for this two years ago and was told it was ‘in the works’, and the topic has been locked, so sorry for the new thread, but is this feature coming at all anymore?
You’ll find that Roon staff did not commit to anything other than what was delivered in release 1.3. You have DR (R128 loudness range calculation) now and I think VU metering was ruled out because this would need to be delivered by the endpoint.
For an ‘offline’ solution I use MusicScope.
You can batch process all your files and configure to save a picture of the analysis, which you can then bring up in Roon using picture browser.
Here is an example of the output.
