Hello,
Recently I have the E1DA 9038SG3, portable dac/amp with usb C female, with which I want to connect my iPhone SE 2022/Roon ARC with lightning female and my Custom Art Fibae 3 inears.
Fortunately I still had a USB cable with both C and lightning male. Unfortunately this did not work. The iPhone played through its own speakers. When removing the USB cable, there was no removal message, so there is no connection at all.
With my DAP Hiby R6 with USB-C female I was able to make a connection, but now the volume control was a disaster. Volume position 0 was no sound and volume position 1 was too loud for me. The bandwidth was therefore much too narrow. The DAP has a volume control from 0 to 100.
Now I know that the E1DA does work.
With the iPhone, the USB cable may be the problem, perhaps only suitable for charging. I have already ordered a special MFi (Made For iPhone) cable that can also transfer data. Wait and see if it works. Audiophonics, where I bought the E1DA, advises: for iOS/Mac devices need to use player app like Neutron to get volume control.
Before I buy that app I want to know if anyone has experience with this. What advice can be given in this situation. How good is Audiophonics’ advice? Can the Neutron app handle Roon ARC?
Thanks in advance for all the effort, Bert.
