Early Access: RoonOS (Nucleus/ROCK) #281 is live!

Hello Everyone,

With this new Early Access release, we continue improving RoonOS 3.0. Along with minor bug fixes, we are also introducing a couple of new features: a timezone picker for RoonOS and a network diagnostics section, both in the WebUI and on the HDMI display.

We’re also improving HDMI display stability, including the pairing mechanism after a restart, along with other fixes. Also, the HDMI display is now able to display RoonServer update and restart phases

NOTE: You will need the latest Early Access build of RoonServer (#1686) to get the full experience.

Updating the HDMI display functionality

We added a couple more screens to the HDMI display; now it can reflect the update process of RoonServer and its restart:

Network Diagnostics in the WebUI

Located in the WebUI, Network Diagnostics provides insight into your network’s current state with a single click. Obviously, under normal conditions, you won’t need this section, but it’s a good tool to have if things go wrong:

Change log

  • Implemented a server-status screen on the display when RoonServer is not running
  • Implemented a display auto-return behaviour to Now Playing 30s after ESC
  • Updated WebUI with Network troubleshooting section
  • Updated WebUI with the timezone picker
  • Potential fix for the intermittent SMB share lock issue
  • Various minor bug fixes and stability improvements
