Describe the issue

Hello,

I have been using Roon continuously on Computer 1, and when I tried to connect to Roon on Computer 2, for some reason, the Roon Core switched to Computer 2. In order to use Computer 1 as the Roon Core again, I logged out of Computer 2 and uninstalled Roon. However, when I try to connect to Roon on Computer 1, the "Connect" button appears, but when I click it, it just keeps showing "connecting" endlessly without actually connecting. I am unable to access Roon, and I need help resolving this issue.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Roon on Computer 1, and I have also checked the firewall as per the FAQ, but the issue still persists.

Please help.

Describe your network setup

Hi @ksty203,

Thank you for your post.

Restrict the RoonServer machine you want to use - Computer 1 - to a single active network interface (preferably ethernet).

It sounds like you accidentally installed a RoonServer instance on Computer 2.

You’ll need to deeply uninstall the Roon database on the machine you just want to use for the GUI (Roon remote).

Do you have a Backup available of your Roon database?

On Computer 1:

  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Verify that the RoonServer folder is still there

On Computer 2:

  • Verify you have a Backup of your current Roon Database on either computer
  • In Roon, disconnect from RoonServer and log out. Close Roon.
  • Stop RoonServer from running in Task Manager
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
  • Delete this folder entirely
  • Open Roon
  • Press “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the original database on Computer 1

Again, make sure you have a Reliable Backup available.

Let us know if this helps.
