· I did a Reset This PC a few days ago and endpoints connected to my local Windows computer are no longer available in Audio Settings. Connected to Roon Server, Roon Ready, and Other network devices are all available like usual, but not my Denafrips Ares or even System Output. I've tried restarting Roon, my ROCK, and my computer but none of those has made a difference.
Since you are using a Windows PC, I would verify that both Roon.exe and RAATServer.exe have been added as exceptions to your Windows firewall.
You can use these instructions to add the exceptions and the executables themselves would be located in your Database Location/Application folder path.
I would also add these exceptions to any Antivirus or other Firewall blocking applications you may have and ensure that you connected to your network via a Private network, not a Public one, see this guide for more information.
It looks like changing my network from public to private fixed it. New problem though: My DAC is failing to initialize. I tried the other local ones and they all seem to work. Any ideas?
Glad the network change fixed the connectivity issue!
Regarding the DAC failing to initialize - please check if anything else has exclusive control of it. In Windows, go to Sound Settings → your DAC → Properties → Advanced and uncheck “Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device”. Also check if any other application (Spotify, foobar, media player) is currently running and holding the device.
Glad to hear you got it working! Play queues are tied to specific zones, so if the old zone driver is not recognized anymore then unfortunately, that queue is inaccessible. We’ll go ahead and mark the thread for closure but if you need further assistance in the future, please just let us know, thanks!
Yes, the issue is solved. If I plugged in what Roon thought was the same DAC, then my queue would pop back up. Since it’s not stored in the DAC, that data must still be in my ROCK database somewhere, right?
