Hi
Just to add on this conversation and be sure : " The base Storage folder is not persistent and anything placed there will not remain after a reboot". I didn’t see anything like this in the documentation!
But it just happen to me yesterday after a utility power failure, all files in the storage folder just vanished after reboot…
I have 1Tb .m2 SSD and I would like to use this ssd for storing my music file on the Rock NUC. I created a folder in the “Data” folder named “Music2021” and store all my music files in this folder, is this folder going to be erase at the next reboot like the storage folder?
Yes, and that’s why (as you know, but the OP didn’t) a 1TB M.2 for ROCK is a complete waste of space. An M.2 of 128 GB is more than enough. Hope the @jlkape can repurpose his M.2.
It’s not on the main ROCK install at all which is a large oversight by Roon here.
Install a 64GB or larger SSD into the M.2 Slot
Install 4GB or more of RAM
Optionally, install a 2.5" internal SATA disk. You can only use 1, so don’t bother with more
For more information about storage options for use with ROCK, see here
Nowhere does it say you can’t put music on the main HDD so OP cannot be blamed here. You have to goto other pages for it to mention music storage but again it doesnt say you can’t put it on the os drive. It’s not particularly clearly done at all, like most of Roons kB.
Is that on the install Rock page which is where people are likely to go. No it isn’t. You guys need to understand how people work they are not going to read that page they will go straight for the install instructions which has none of the important info about this at all. They are not going to read all the subpages at all especially the one right at the bottom of it all.
