This morning’s Roon adventure for support is: "error: “Can’t connect to Roon search.”
Attempting to pull up Lizz Wright to get to her latest album, it was not available from Roon. So I tried to go to my Qobuz subscription. Seeing the error, I attempted the “Try again” button several times. I logged out and logged back in. Still an error. Please see the attached.
Ben with the support team here, thanks for writing in and for your patience while we work through each thread.
Following up on your issue, I see that your core device is running an outdated Roon build. The first step I would suggest would be to update your Mac core device to the latest build, as we’ve released a handful of fixes related to search that you may find helpful.
If you’re not able to update normally, I would suggest giving your core device a reboot. I’ll be on standby for your reply.
Hey Ben, I thought I wrote about this update issue, but maybe not. To assure you, I have restarted the server that Roon runs on. The error notice that I am receiving is “There was an error for the update” which has re-occurred multiple times - let’s say 4-5 times to be conservative. I just tried it again just now, i.e., re-boot, then attempt to get an update. As a side issue, I have the settings set to auto-update - this to my knowledge has not worked with a recent update. I have been trying to get the Roon core updated since I received the Fluency email on 4.17.23. Please let me know the next steps. Thanks, John
Understood, thanks for the update! Let’s perhaps look at refreshing your database to force an update, and then restore your settings from a fresh backup. Steps to follow below:
Wow. Very disappointed to have to go through this again. This leads me to believe that Roon is an old, cranky piece that likes Control-Alt-Delete as it seems to be the go-to Roon support solution. I will have to find a block of time to mess with this.
