I made install USB from https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/rock-install-guide using Etcher. It looks working fine but I get the message "There was an error checking update”
This is typically when the device cannot reach Roon’s update servers …
We have seen users have a better experience in the past if they change their Router’s DNS servers from the ISP provided ones to Cloudflare DNS, Quad9 or Google DNS. Can you please give this a try and let me know if it helps?
@Carl is correct - this error presents when the update server is non-responsibe to your ROCK’s update request, most commonly because the address fails to resolve in time.
Try re-assigning DNS as suggested. If you use a VPN to each Roon, you’ll need to re-assign DNS there instead.
