Description of Issue

I previously setup a Roon core using my PC, no issues there whatsoever, had successfully added my network share folder.
I decided to get a dedicated Roon core, so I got a NUC and proceeded with ROCK etc. However, when I tried to add my music folder, I got “error loading folder unexpected error”.

I’ve read the forums and there were mentioned of special characters issue, but it doesn’t seem possible as the folder is able to be added on my previous Roon core (my PC).

I am still on trial account btw.

It sounds as though you have moved your Roon Core from a PC to a NUC running ROCK. Did you follow the steps given in this migration article? And have you edited the addresses of your Watched Folders to reflect the new addresses?

I was trying to setup the ROCK as new, so I didn’t follow the steps.

Basically I just logged into the new ROCK, and wanted to start importing my music, which I tried by pointing to my ‘NAS’, but the music directory gave me the error

have tried the migration method, successfully restored backup but my library is empty since the music folder can’t be read.

fixed issue by manually shifting folder by folder, had a folder with a extremely long folder name in Chinese, deleting that folder fixed it
