I seem to have the same problem, ignored it for a while. Same Roon Server version, running on an M2 Mac Mini: version 2.56 (build 1582).
The process is a bit bizarre, I tried this a few times now:
- I’m told that updates are available, on my iPad - if I just say “update everything” like I always did in the past, nothing visible happens at all, and within a day or so the update message comes back
- If I look at details in the Settings, I can see that an update is available and I can click “install it now”
- I see a progress bar for “Downloading”, then another one for “Installing”, and then suddenly it’s replaced by “There was an error checking for an update.”
Clearly the message is wrong - whatever happens must be an error during installation, towards the very end of it as far as I can tell. Is there a place where I can check a log to see what actually happened? Or perhaps I should just go to the latest version manually and stop wondering why?
