Ethernet over Coax solved my problem

Hi there - I just wanted to share that I was in a bind - I needed to hardwire my Roon server but it is 2 floors from the router with no ethernet cables between the rooms. Then I realized that I do have coax to reach room so I ordered some MoCa adapters which run at 2.5Gb. Once I buzzed out the correct coax and terminated the raw cable I was able to install them either end and connect to my router. Everything worked perfectly and I now have a strong wired connection. I recommend MoCa adapters for anyone in a similar situation

Am I the only one old enough to remember when all ethernet was over coax?

Hi, can you recommend a high quality MoCA adapter to use? I want to see if switching to wired coax works better than the wifi extender Iā€™m currently using for my Nucleus.

I bought mine in the UK so maybe different in your location. They are made by goCoax and are 2.5GbE spec - obviously you need a pair of them. I am sure there are many brands with similar products - good luck in the search - I think it will work better than a WiFi extender - mine certainly have.

Awesome, thx!

I sse the goCoax adapters in my new to me house and could reach nearly every room. Some filtering required to protect the cable signal from high frequency noise but that was about it.
