Describe the issue

Hi, I have changed my NAS where my music folder is.I am using Eversolo A6 as a streamer. After this change of NAS, now Roon Server doesn't recognise the Eversolo A6 as an output. To make sure that it is recognised I have first to switch on the Eversolo A6 and then ignitiate the Roon Server. Before the change for the Nas, I didn't have this problem, and I could ignitiate first Roon Server and then Eversolo and it always appeared as an output. Now, I have to do it as I have explained. It's a bit borring. How can I solve this situation? Thanks

Hi @bruno.talouarn,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. I think the best way to start troubleshooting is to take a look at your Roon server logs. Since our servers are unable to see your NAS server can you please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader?

Hi Daniel, thanks for your reply. i have just sent you the logs.
I look forward hearing from you.

Regards

Hi @bruno.talouarn,
Thanks for uploading those logs for us. Unfortunately on their own they are not very instructive. I have a few questions to narrow things down. How is the Eversolo connected to your setup? If you are using the USB or HDMI input what device is it connected to?

hi Daniel, The Eversolo is connected by ethernet cable to a switch, and the PC is also connected to this switch.
Hope that will help.

Hey @bruno.talouarn,

Thanks for the update!

Since your Roon Server is running on a windows machine, as well as your A6, it’s likely that your NAS (only holding your local library) isn’t the source of your issue - more likely a coincidence you’ve experience this issue around the same time you’ve made the change to the NAS.

A few areas to troubleshoot further:

  1. Your Windows firewall settings - if you temporarily disable your Windows firewall, are you able to connect to your A6 normally?

I would also add these exceptions to any Antivirus or other Firewall blocking applications you may have and ensure that you connected to your network via a Private network, not a Public one, see this guide for more information.

  1. Check your local subnets within your router settings - all your Roon devices will need to run under the same IP scheme. If you have multiple active subnets within your local network, test out disabling one and reboot your router - that should force all your devices to land on the same subnet.

Let us know if either of the above help! Thank you :raised_hands:

HI Benjamin,
thanks for your reply. I have tried to disable Firewall and Antivirus and it didn’t help.
But, I have tried to configurate the Windows network in the public mode and that solves the problem. Now each time I start the Eversolo A6 after launching Roon Server, it appears in the output device.
Seems that this solution is fine for you ?
Regards.

Hi @bruno.talouarn,
We’re glad the Eversolo isa now working as expected for you. I’ll mark this thread as solved for you. The thread will remain open for a couple more days in case the problem returns.
