Oh and also to get more info on the variable volume bypass… when you do that, are you bypassing the onboard preamp completely?

No, I am not - I’ve just read about I2S being able to support multichannel.

Just updated my EverSolo DMP - A8 to latest firmware which, apparently, now includes Roon certification. However, Roon does not show the A8 as an audio device.
Any suggestions how to solve this problem? Thanks.
I also updated both the Eversolo App and the DMP-A8 firmware for v1.2.95 Beta. As the Settings selection on my tablet while running Roon remains inaccessable and I can only play Roon via Airplay (same as prior to the Beta Eversolo update, I believe we await a Roon update to realize the full Roon Ready functionality. Thoughts?
When I powered on my DMP-A8 this morning, I was elated to see that v1.2.98 was ready for OTA download and installation. Everything seemed to go smoothly, and when I started Roon on my PC, and went to 
> Audio I enabled my Roon Ready Eversolo. Now, after selecting my new Audio Zone, for the first time I can enjoy the full experience.
FTR, I run Roon ROCK as a VM on a Minisforum machine under Proxmox.

Hi, if you haven’t tried, go into Settings in Roon, look for Audio and you should see the Eversolo DMP-A8 there and then click Enable.

Great news. one small issue I notice is that the max PCM setting is 384kHz - but the DMP-8 supports higher. Hope that will be rectified in a later release.

User error on the Beta as I forgot to choose the non-Airplay. I’ve since moved on to the production version and all is well! One weird thing however. The Settings selection wheel, using Roon on my Samsung A8 tablet, ONLY in Portrait mode gives me the strikethrough upon selection. However, when I change to Landscape mode, all is well and I have access to the settings menu. That was probably why I figured the Beta was failing me when I reported 6 hours earlier.

Is the Eversolo the DAC or is it used as a bridge passing it on to another DAC?
I would also say, that you should really ask Eversolo tech since they implemented the software. Your Roon server is only showing you what the Eversolo told the RoonServer it’s max resolution capabilities.
The DMP-A8, like the A6, boasts an onboard DAC, and can also pass through to an outboard DAC.
Sounds like Eversolo either has more to do, or is throttling for an undisclosed reason.

Right I asked because in the case of DSD there are limitations in some cases when the using the device to pass through to an outboard DAC. Not sure how @jrd1975 rd1975 was using it.
