Eversolo & Gustard, correct settings for MQA

Hi, I am running a T8 to R26ii via USB. The eversolo is showing PCM while the Gustard is showing the correct MQA sample rate. Is this how it should be? Should the eversolo be showing MQA sample rate on its display as well?

Also, just to make sure I have my settings correct I have the T8 set to decoder/renderer even though the DAC takes care of both. I haven’t connected the DAC itself to ROON. Is this the correct setting for the T8?

Thanks!

I only have an A8 (with no external DAC).

Mine shows MQA Logo and PCM for the format. The T8 needs to know, what your DAC can and what not. Some DAC do not tell the streamer properly their capabilities.

And in Roon, the MQA Decoder needs to be turned off - Otherwise, the Decoding is done by Roon.

I do have the MQA core decoder turned off for the T8. It’s never shown a MQA logo. Being that the DAC does I am sure i am still getting the full MQA experience but I just wonder why the T8 doesn’t show that it is playing MQA sample rates.

The Sample Rates are shown, after the Decoding process - haven’t seen anything else.
So if the Gustard is your MQA Decoder, how should the T8 know about, what the decoded file samplerate would be?
