I am having difficulties with my system recognizing the Eversolo NAA. I have tried both HQ Player desktop (on a mac) and HQ Player embedded, and the Eversolo does not show up. I am running the latest firmware (1.5.62). Is there any setting I need to enable on the eversolo (I don’t see anywhere that the NAA is listed on the Eversolo). I am able to see both my ultra-rendus and hold red, but no Eversolo. What else can I try?

With Eversolo, there’s nothing to activate. You control the Eversolo NAA using HQPlayer. You might want to try using the refresh button in HQPlayer embedded…

I checked an it is activated. I tried the NAA with both HQ Player Desktop and HQ Player Embedded. HQ Player Desktop does not see the NAA. HQ Player Embedded sees it sporadically – most of the time it doesn’t.

Any other thoughts about what I can do to get HQ Player to recognize this NAA?

Please read the instructions above. Have you set the Eversolo to the USB DAC output? For HQ Player embedded only: It’s important that “Bitrate” and “Rate Limit” are set to the same value (try first 12288000). Then click “Apply.” After that, click on “Refresh Devices”—the Eversolo should now appear under “Device”… If not, you’ll need to spend a little more time figuring out HQ Player embedded, or your Eversolo has a fault—which I don’t think is the case…

One more note: With the right settings, DSD512 works on the Eversolo T8 (provided there is sufficient CPU power), but only DSD512—not DSD512x48. There is speculation in other forums that this might be due to the USB controller’s firmware of the Eversolo. According to Jussi, this could be a typical implementation error in the XMOS USB Audio Class Engine.

When using the A8 with HQPlayer upsampled to DSD 512, it plays well most of the time, but sporadically speeds up the music for about 2 seconds and then returns to normal speed. I’d say this happens about once every 20 minutes. The problem persists in the latest update.

Hi everyone,

I’m new to this forum and I’m hoping someone can help me with an issue I’m having with the Eversolo T8 as a HQPlayer NAA.

My setup is:

  • Minisforum MS-A1

  • AMD Ryzen 9 7900

  • 32 GB DDR5

  • Linux Mint

  • Roon Server running on the MS-A1

  • HQPlayer Desktop 6 running on the same MS-A1

  • Eversolo T8 (latest firmware with NAA support)

  • Audio-GD R8HE Mk3 DAC

  • Gigabit network with a FRITZ!Box 7690 router

The new FRITZ!Box solved several small hiccups I had before. Previously I occasionally had issues when pausing music in Roon or skipping tracks. Those problems have completely disappeared and HQPlayer now runs fast and flawlessly.

Unfortunately, there is still one NAA-related problem.

After pausing playback in Roon on my iPad for about an hour (I was on a phone call), I tried to resume playback, but the Play button no longer worked.

I then checked my MS-A1, where both HQPlayer and Roon Server are running. Under Device in the HQPlayer Settings, the device list was empty and no NAA was detected anymore.

Both HQPlayer and Roon Server were still running normally. Rebooting the MS-A1 did not help.

Only after completely rebooting the Eversolo T8 did the NAA reappear in HQPlayer, after which everything worked normally again.

After rebooting the T8, I was also presented with the following “Log report” screen, offering the option to capture and upload logs if the problem occurs again.

I honestly have no idea what to do with that screen. Does this issue sound familiar to anyone, and is there anything I can do to help identify the cause?

Or should I simply give up on using the T8 as a HQPlayer NAA and move to a Raspberry Pi-based NAA instead, while continuing to use the T8 only as a streamer?

Sounds like the NAA component in T8 has crashed and that’s why the output disappeared. You could send them the logs from T8 so they will hopefully fix the issue.

Today I had multiple NAA crashes with the T8 using HQP :enraged_face:

I have uploaded the T8 log files to Eversolo, it’s a pity that I can’t read them myself.

I believe it is the same software package as on the other devices. I have a DMP-A6 Gen II as a testing unit.

If Eversolo are true to form, the answer will be no. It may end up being a slightly newer version of the NAA software but any problems are for Eversolo to fix or for them to inform Jussi of any things they may think he can fix. The bottom line is the software for everything from their earliest A6’s to the latest T10’s should be the same. But obviously later and more powerful machines might provide a better experience.

Is it correct that if I buy a IAN CANADA TRANSPORTPI DIGI II Ultra Low Jitter Digital Audio Interface Module for my Raspberry Pi 4B (8Gb) I can use it as a perfect working NAA endpoint purely over HDMI i2s to my Audio-GD DI-25HE without a USB connection to my Audio-GD R8HE mk3 DAC?

I ask this because now I use the Eversolo T8 as NAA, the audio signal is also purely over HDMI, but in this case I need a USB connection to the R8HE MK3 DAC for the NAA handshake.

And a USB connection first to the DI25HE won’t work because the Amanero module has no 5V line needed for the NAA handshake.
