Eversolo T10 or Eversolo T8

Check, double-check

I’m wondering what the added value of the Eversolo T10 is compared to my Eversolo T8, especially since I have the T8 connected to my Z10 via the USB output (Audioquest Coffee). After all, this connection allows it to use the clock and FPGA of the Z10

DAC.

Aside from the fact that various internal components of the T10 are better shielded and the ability to connect an external clock, I’m wondering if I should sell my T8 and then spend an additional €1,000 to €1,200. Would the differences be audible, and would this investment be worth it?

I’d love to hear your thoughts so I can further form my opinion and ultimately reach a well-considered decision. Thanks in advance for your input.

Just found this. Maybe it helps:

Before you buy the Eversolo T10, check this out.

Thanks for your comment. I had indeed already found this video on YouTube, just like the one by Jay’s Iyagi. It’s videos like these that really make you think.

There are just as many supporters as there are opponents, but who’s right?

I have a T8 with the companion Z10 and I am very happy with it. I looked at the T10 and was curious like you and I checked out the reviews.

I think I am going to stay with the T8 since I already have it in my chain. It is the best setup that I have had up to this point. Now if I did not have the T8 and I was looking to pair with the Z10 then I definitely would go with the T10.

Who knows, maybe 6 months down the road I will change my mind but I am staying with the T8.

Well, my audio store is letting me trade back my T8 for the T10 for the difference and a 200 restock fee, so I’ll let you know.

I found USB to be better than i2S on the T8, hoping to test it out with the better clock in the T10. Plus, larger screen matters to the spouse.

Me and many of my friends are very happy upgrading from T8 to T10 and think the cost is worthwhile.
By no means to persuade any other to follow as the T8 is still a very good streamer.

As I did not have a dedicated streamer, I was using a GOLDNOTE DS-10 EVO as an endpoint, I took the plunge on the T10, which I am really happy with sonically, though there are a few teething problems. I have a slightly problematic room, so have used correction in various forms, notably ROON itself but now the Eversolo T10, which threw up an issue. I had initially intended to use the USB out from the T10 to the GOLDNOTE DAC, but Evotune Pro refused to cooperate with the DAC via USB, however it worked with AES/EBU. I reached out on the ZIDOO/EVERSOLO forum and they have been very reposnsive, working through various options. We have now established that it is indeed a specific issue between the streamer and the DAC over USB, they are working to resolve this.

You might consider this a small problem, no room correction over USB, but it still streams over all connections (Exhaustive testing), but I think we would all want our devices to work in the way we planned/intended, within the bounds of the equipment design.

I have to say, plaudits to Eversolo and especially KIM for his help, overall I am very happy, the soundscape over AES/EBU is much improved form the GOLDNOTE streaming option I did have.

I’ve just come across a comparison myself on a channel I’m subscribed to, namely Pursuit Perfect System. There’s an audible difference between the T8 and T10, although this is less noticeable when connected via USB. I don’t think this slight difference is worth the extra investment at this stage, especially when I take into account the quality of the rest of my system and the diminishing returns. Thanks for your comments.
