USER BEWARE

Friday morning when I turned my system on I was prompted with a OTA Firmware Update v1.5.75 on my T8. Usually there is a Ok or a Cancel option. There was NO Cancel only a Ok option and it took up most of the screen and there was no way around it.

I believe I could have continued to use it thru Roon but there was a lot going on at the time with folks coming over and so I foolishly opted to Update the firmware. I’ve done this before in the past with my Eversolo devices and also with my Zidoo device and no issues arose.

Firmware went thru with no errors on the device, however when I launched Roon, my Roon Ready device was missing from Roon. What is strange there are 2 Eversolo T8 Airplay devices.

The Roon Ready T8 was missing from every endpoint device on my network. I tried everything to get it back. I’m prepared to try and downgrade the firmware to get my system back but I want to contact my distributor and see if they can connect me with Eversolo first.

This is a bummer.

Thanks for the heads up. I just checked and my T8 is running firmware 1.5.62 with no prompts to install a firmware update. I’m located in New Jersey, USA

Did you have the option to Cancel or just a OK? I always had a Cancel option before.

Replaced Nic cards. Network is ok. I have 2 Different Eversolo T8 Airplay devices on same unit. Eversolo told my distributor that only a Roon active subscription will work and not a Trial. My reply was that I was Lifetime.

No “Cancel” option if I recall correctly
One thing that I did that you may do as I do feel this seems to be a network issue

Try reserving the IP address for the T8 within your router..
And again do a complete reboot, including powering off your T8

And rebooting your complete network ?
I also have a lifetime license to Roon.. zero issues

I just did an OTA update of the T8 to firmware v1.5.75 and there were absolutely no issues.

In the “audio” section of “Settings” the T8 shows up three times:

As a “Roon Ready” device (enabled, in other words, the one I’m using)

As a “Squeezebox” device (not enabled)

As an “airplay” (not “airplay2”) device (not enabled)

Do you use i2s out?

I use i2s out.

Yes I use i2s out into a Gustard R30 R2R DAC

I was told the USB implementation could not handle/send DSD 48K clock rates; and I was wondering if the i2s could.

Which Roon core/client version do you have?
