· Core: Small Green Computer i7 Storage: music dragged from OWC Thunderblade attached to Mac M4 over network to Core Test album: 2 FLAC tracks, 93.7 MB total Import method: drag 2 files from Finder into Roon Problem: Roon’s “File copying (for import)” counter keeps growing far beyond 93 MB (appears to be in the GB range) and repeats every time, even after Core reboot and moving the files into a fresh folder. Files play fine in Audirvana.
Thanks for reaching out to us with this question and for providing the logs.
Our team has reviewed your RoonServer logs, and we can see a recurring “loop” in the import transactions (remoteimport). This usually happens when the system encounters a conflict between the source and the destination during a drag-and-drop operation, causing the counter to grow indefinitely.
We also noticed on the screenshot that you’re trying to copy 315 files, which is likely significantly more than 93 MB.
To help us investigate further, please try the following:
Upload the files for review: Please compress the album (or the folder you are trying to import) and upload it here:
https://workdrive.zohoexternal.com/collection/nocvrfc5b2ddab55140af8640f1d7ce13291e/external
. We’ll review the files to see if there is anything specific in the metadata or file structure causing this.
Simplify your network: To rule out any network-related issues, please try to simplify your setup by connecting the Small Green Computer directly to the Netgear Orbi 960 router, bypassing the TRENDnet switch for this test.
Try a different import method: Instead of dragging files into the Roon interface, please try copying them directly to your Small Green Computer’s storage folder using macOS Finder (via SMB). This bypasses the "Remote Import" process and often resolves such transaction loops.
Database Cleanup: Go to Settings -> Library -> Library Maintenance and run "Clean up library" to clear any hung import transactions.
We'll be waiting for the uploaded files and your results after simplifying the network.
Thank you for replying so quickly. I can confirm the issue was with the remote import path. Adding files over SMB was successful. As a side note, the album was only two tracks, so the loop and large number of files shown was part of the problem I was experiencing during drag and drop import. Thank you again for your help!
