· What has happened to memory on Windows computers? Roon has always been bad but suddenly much worse. I have 16MB of ram. Typically Roon has used 5.5 to 6MB and dropping if idle for awhile. Now it is using all available memory, 9.5MB shown on a screenshot I could send you and not dropping even when idle. Makes Roon and everything else effectively non-functional.
If the click on the > to the left of Roon in the Task Manager it expand and should show which parts of Roon are using what memory.
My initial thoughts are the total memory use here is because you have Roon Server and Roon Client running on the same machine simultaneously. The Roon Client does use memory at quite an amount.
I suspect Roon server is using around 5gb and Roon client around 4.5gb. At a guess.
That sounds like it makes sense, except this only started happening a week or two ago after using the same setup on the same machine for the last two or three years.
We have analyzed the diagnostics report from your machine and noticed that your Roon Server is consistently using around 5GB of RAM, while the Roon Remote app is using an additional 4GB.
This level of memory usage is higher than expected.
