Stick with For Compatibility
I found this but have not read through it all.
If I set it on For Compatibility, then it goes to the only sample rate it detects, being 48 or 384 kHz. So it either upsample or downsample. I saw this thread, but I am not in the same situation: I know that my DACs are able to do DSD and it worked in the past, but now I only have one sample rate available for each DAC. My iFi Hip Dac is stuck at 384, as if it was the only one available.
I’m on iPhone
So there is no solution??
You appear to be running iOS 18 on this device. If that’s the case, you’re encountering a known issue. I’ll merge your thread momentarily so you can receive updates on the ticket and eventual fix. Thank you for your patience.
Hi @Justin_Choquette, @ken.kass
This ticket remains with QA - we’re making progress but still don’t have a public fix ready for release. Thank you for your ongoing patience.
Any update? IOS 18 will soon be available to the public. I’ve done the upgrade but there’s nothing new…
Hello All,
Thanks for the feedback here. We currently have a fix for this issue in Early Access testing, and hope to release this fix to an upcoming Roon release. Please feel free to try out the Early Access changes and let us know if there’s an improvement, or keep an eye on our Release Notes section for when the Production release is made publically available. Thanks!
Well, it fixed half of my problem. I now have access to all the sample rates of my DAC. I also see that it’s playing lossless when I play in DSD. Everything is back like it was before IOS 18. But I only hear white noise…
Hello @Justin_Choquette ,
Can you please let us know the exact local date + time + track when you are able to reproduce this white noise issue next? What does the signal path show when this is playing? Can you share a screenshot of that as well?
