I have 2 external HDs on which all of my music is stored, and neither of them show up in the “Choose music storage folder” window of the Roon app. Both are formatted as nonencrypted APFS, 1 8TB, the other 4TB. Roon has no problem identifying other HDs similarly formatted connected to my computer. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks for writing in and for sharing your report! It is frustrating when specific drives refuse to show up, especially when they are formatted correctly and other similar drives are working fine. Since Roon can see your “Macintosh HD Backup” and “Video 8TB” drives (as seen in your screenshot), the issue likely isn’t the file system ($APFS$), but rather how macOS is gating Roon’s access to these specific volumes.
The most common culprit in macOS Sequoia is Full Disk Access. Sometimes an app has partial “Files and Folders” access but needs a higher level of permission to “see” newly added or specific external volumes.
Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security.
Click on Full Disk Access.
Find Roon (and Roon Appliance if it's listed) in the list.
Toggle the switch OFF and then ON again (even if it’s already on).
Restart Roon and check the storage window.
If that doesn’t help, review the steps listed on how to enable proper sharing permissions via macOS here:
Thanks so much for your help. I don’t why, but granting Full Disk Access didn’t work; the volumes still didn’t show up. But adding the volumes as network shared folders did the trick! Listening to one of my favorite albums as I write this. Thanks again!
