Number of Tracks in Library
Description of Issue
Sometimes Roon fails to add an album in my library.
Typically this happens when I listen a playlist , I hear a nice track, I decide to add its album to my library for future deeper listens.
The point is that in hundreds of albums I may have forgotten that this album is already present , but Roon app doesn’t show it is already in the library, so it presents the “+” in the interface instead of the empty icon, then a “wheel” start spinning indefinitely . To resolve I need to close the app and then start it again, in that moment the album appears to be in the library.
What can I do to resolve this issue?
When you add a track from an album that is NOT in your library to a playlist, you are creating a link to that non-library album. Even if you add that album to your library later, the link in the playlist is not updated and is still pointing to the non-library version. And, as you have found, the + sign doesn’t function because it really is already in your library.
You probably don’t need to restart the app. You just need to go to the correct album page. Instead of re-starting, either click on the Menu / My Albums Screen and then filter for the album in your library and you will be on the correct album page. Or, go to the Artist page, on the Overview tab scroll down to albums in my library.
While playing music, when attempting to add a Qobuz Album that’s either in Queue or Playing, from a non-core computer or iPhone app, the “+” (Add) circle continues to spin and the Roon app hangs after the popup appears indicating that the Album has been added to Library. The only way to stop it from spinning is to kill and relaunch the app. Sometimes it also crashes the app on its own while it’s in “spinning” mode.
I believe this sometimes also happens when doing the same operation directly from the Core app itself, but not as often as when using a remote app, either on a different Mac computer or iPhone.
