Description of Issue

Hi, I had been using Roon on my laptop and have recently migrated to a PC, changing my Roon core with it. I am on Windows 11 using Gustard x 16 DAC WASAPI exclusive mode for lossless audio. The audio wouldn’t work at all giving me the error “Failed to Initialize the Audio Device”. After deleting all the other Audio drivers and the Gustard ASIO driver, I was able to get it working. However, it would still stop automatically after 2 or 3 songs, showing the same error when I try to play again. The only remedy I found was to turn the DAC power switch off and on.

Hi @Kieran_Zaryouni,

Thank you for your patience. When a device has both ASIO and WASAPI drivers installed, it’s best to either remove one of the drivers as a Zone in Roon or uninstall it completely, as you’ve done.

We can likely resolve the other errors you’re seeing with a RAATServer refresh. Please take the following steps and let us know if it helps:

  • Create a Backup of your current Roon database to retain DSP customization
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RAATServer”
  • Rename the “RAATServer” folder to “RAATServer_old”
  • Restart the Roon App to generate a new RAATServer folder

If the above doesn’t help, please share a screenshot of the Device Settings page for the Gustard in Roon → Settings → Audio by clicking on the gear. Thank you!
