Thanks I have cancelled he Exclusive mode and I can listen but thats not where I am paying for so I hope for a quick solution
Qobuz and Audirvana dont have these problems
I can confirm this issue on macOS 26 (Sequoia) using a FiiO K11 (firmware v1.25).
The symptoms are identical to those reported with Topping and SMSL DACs:
“Failed to initialize audio device” when switching sample rates
The K11 briefly shows “0 in / 0 out” in macOS Audio MIDI Setup
After unplugging and reconnecting, playback works again immediately
Qobuz switches sample rates perfectly without any issue
This seems to affect all USB Audio Class 2.0 devices in exclusive mode on macOS Tahoe, not only certain brands.
I’m running firmware v1.25 on the K11 and have tested different USB cables and ports – no change.
Playback remains stable if I fix the sample rate in Roon (e.g. 96 kHz).
Same here. Frustrating
This isn’t a workaround. The first suggestion is to fix the sample rate (let roon do the conversion), and continue using exclusive mode.
I’m not sure if I have the same problem, but I’m running Tahoe and now Roon can’t find my Roon Server or some of my peripheral DACs or my iPad. This is more than frustrating, because I was about to go back and reconnect everything UNTIL I read about the Apple/Roon issue.
This sounds possibly more like this longstanding issue:
or a combination of this one and the Exclusive Mode issue from this thread
Thanks for the reply. This is extremely irritating.
Did you try the solution/workaround from the linked issue that started with Sequoia and the workarounds given here a few posts up?
I did toggle the Roon Server and Roon off and on in the Mac OS System Settings and rebooted the computer. Nothing. Problem exists.
I don’t know where to go to set a fixed sample rate in the MUSE/DSP settings. Nor do I know anything about finding the “Rosetta mode” in the Mac server.
I DO know that Roon can’t find my Roon Server which is situated on the Mac where Roon is located. That would be funny, if it weren’t so frustrating.
Is it running?
Was explained further up in the linked thread. Forum search is your friend
How do I “right click” on it using a standard mouse?
Hold down the Control key
I don’t know what a standard mouse is in this context. Most mice have had a second mouse button for decades even on Macs.
If you mean an Apple Magic Mouse, see here:
You can also instead press the CTRL key and click. See the various options here:
OK, I figured it out and opened in Rosetta Mode. Haven’t checked it out yet.
I hope it helps ![]()
Me, too, but this is such a cluster f##k.
You asked earlier if my Roon Server was running. I assumed that, since I can open Roon on my Mac, that the server is running. Yes? No?
Also, located the MUSE and made no changes.
The server is a separate program from the graphical control app. The graphical app normally should start the background server program, but who knows.
Can you see the Roon icon on your Mac’s menu bar at the top, on the right in the notification area? If you click it, it should open a menu like this:
