However, diagnostic logging indicate that you’re facing a separate underlying failure mechanism, and it appears to be intermittent. We wanted to troubleshoot this particular problem separately so we can pinpoint and resolve it.
Can you please describe what you’re experiencing in Roon, and whether it reproduces with the System Output of the Mac you’re using as the Remote/RAATServer in this setup?
Do you have any DSP profiles active?
Please also share a screenshot of the particular error message you see in Roon.

What happens is playback stalls whenever I play music with different sample rates, say moving from 16/44 to 24/96, playback will fail after the switch and I get a “Failure to Initialize” message in Roon. I tried increasing the resync delay from 0 to 5000 ms to see if that would help, but it didn’t. This failure happens whether I’m playing FLACs from my local library or through Qobuz streaming via Roon.
If I go to the Mac mini which is running RoonBridge and stop and restart it, I’m able to play music again without issue until I encounter another sample rate switch, back to 16/44 for example. Then playback fails once more. Restarting RoonBridge on the affected Endpoint has been my workaround for a few weeks now whenever this happens. I do not experience playback failure with sample rate switches when using System Output directly on my Roon server. I’ve disabled DSP profiles and still see the same issue occur. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the details and the screenshot. Since the issue is intermittent, please let us know the exact local date, time, and track the next time it occurs. We’ll enable diagnostics so we can look for any clues in the logging.
As a stop-gap measure, please use Roon’s DSP Engine (MUSE) to resample all content to one sample rate. That should help while we get to the bottom of this issue.
Wednesday, 6/17/26 10:31 PM Central. Chicago VI. “Critic’s Choice” Went from playing Chicago V “A Hit By Varese” at 24/192 to “Critic’s Choice” and playback failed with the aforementioned error. It basically happens whenever I switch sample rates.
Another episode to report. Playing the Prélude to the opera Lakmé on Lothlorien endpoint. Received the Failure to Initialize error at 8:28 pm Central. Stopped and restarted the RoonBridge on Lothlorien. Able to successfully play at 8:31 pm.
EDIT: Another datapoint. Same scenario, same track, different endpoint (Dunharrow). 6/20 9:40 am Central, functionality restored after the RoonBridge was stopped and restarted on Dunharrow.
