Bans ony prevent the item from being auto-played when you start play from a higher level. So if you ban a track, it won’t play if you play the album or in Roon Radio. If you ban the album, it won’ play if you play the artist. If you ban an artist, nothing from them will play in Radio. And so on. But you can still choose to play the item on purpose (which is a good thing), so it is still visible and not hidden.
And you can’t hide something without first adding it to the library, which is a bit silly.
I came across this Ted Talk from 4 months ago. I do enjoy this guys channel. I don’t know if I agree with him 100%. However, his comments about emotion in art does hold close to the question he tries to answer “What is real music?”
It’s an industry-wide problem and the bad actors are ahead of the industry. Apologies for the title of this video; it’s good (and scary) watching though.
