[Feature Request] Zone Visibility in ARC and Transferring Queue between Roon Remotes/ARC

So I log in to grab the screenshot and the native non arc roon app allows me to connect. because of course.

It is the latest build 1021 on android.

so it was PEBCAK. Thank you. I now know I need to use the different app for different needs.

Adding my vote here. Given the standard Roon client can do this already between clients I can’t see how it’s a huge leap to do this with ARC, especially given they share the same Core and therefore have access to the same state info.

I’m adding my vote to the feature for transferring the queue to/from ARC and Roon Remotes. I went looking for it for the first time yesterday and realised it was not incorporated as yet.

Would be great! My vote for.

Hi all,

One more vote to transfer in/out the playing queue between ARC/Roon Server zones. It would be great!

One year later we have zero news on this. Is Roon even considering this feature?

On some ARC thread Roon stated once that resources only allow one major ARC project at a time.

Considering the many critical issues they have encountered, I would guess their focus was elsewhere. And if it hadn’t been, people would have complained “get the basics right first”.

Would be great to have this feature so when I go for a walk I can transfer from Roon → ARC and then when I get home again do ARC → Roon.

Fully agree with other posters, this would be a great feature to have

4 years later still no interest from Roon to build this common sense feature?

Roon staff expressed their interest in the thread’s second post.

right, and they haven’t been able to solve the husband and wife wanting to transfer each their own queue and thats why we don’t have this feature? got it. anyway if that problem ever occurs that’s a marriage problem, not a roon problem

I am pretty sure that implementing a compatible Zone support in ARC, which so far has no such notion, isn’t trivial. The wife example was given as one example.

Anyway, they said it would have to come after 1.0 and we are not there yet. And ARC was plagued by so many more basic problems that I’m sure they had enough work on their hands. You’d have other complaints from other users if they had chosen to do the zones.

Keeping my eye on this because, yep, would be a great feature.

For me, it’d be good enough to just be able to transfer the current queue between the Roon app and Arc on a device where they’re both installed (rather than needing Arc to be treated as a zone). I can imagine being able to open Roon on my phone, selecting the zone that I want to transfer, hitting “Send to Arc” (or something similar) and have the queue clear in that zone and appear in Arc. This would also be great in reverse, although there would need to be a little more UI involved given you’d most likely have to select a zone when transferring from Arc to Roon.

The above should be possible on Android using an Intent assuming that the queue can be reduced to a list of track identifiers that both Roon and Arc can use, but I’m not sure how feasible it is on iOS at the moment.

It’s not clear if this feature is being worked on or not, but just wanted to give my two cents on a (hopefully) simpler twist on it that might have more chance of getting done. This currently feels like the number one “wait, it can’t do that?” feature in Roon if I’m being honest.
