Describe the issue

I am trying to connect a fiio m11 dap to my roon server on my Mac book pro. I just installed roon on the dap.

Describe your network setup

I don't know

You don’t install Roon on FiiO daps you use the included FiiO Roon app to enable Roon Ready. Then use the regular Roon app to connect to this zone.

Ensure your on the latest firmware as it’s included in this. If using the regular Roon app on the FiiO ensure you don’t enable its own audio output as this is not the correct one. You need to enable the Roon Ready one only. You need to start the FiiO Roon app each time you want to play to it from Roon it doesn’t auto start with it running.

Thanks. I think it’s now working but I am still a bit baffled by the Roon Ready icon on the DAP. It doesn’t really do anything and the ‘Play’ button is unresponsive. I’ve already installed Roon separately from the Google play store and all seems to be working. Here are some screen shots to show the present situation. The Fiio Roon Ready icon and interface plus the Roon app icon.

The Fiio, via Roon, used to connect to my Naim Muso speaker but no longer. it’s available as a device and it seems to be playing but the Muso remains in passive mode and no music plays. It’s a muso version one and I think it’s hit and miss for Roon. Anyway, thanks for your help and I’d welcome any further thoughts or suggestions if you have any, James M

It’s not really meant to do much but enable Roon Ready, it’s so people don’t have to use it if they dont use Roon. I guess this way was easier for filo to implement. Once activated you will see the Roon Ready output in the remote app. Do not enable the one called this phone if using the remote app on the DAP as that isn’t it and won’t be Roon Ready or bit perfect.

MUSO v1 is Airplay and has always had a less than stellar WiFi if your using it via that as its only using the crowded 2.4ghz band and is known to drop off.
