Just installed my new FIIO R2R WARMER DAC, but it wasn’t listed under identifiable products in Settings | Audio | Device. I chose the Fiio K17 instead and it works just fine. Still, I wonder if there are any disadvantages and whether I should choose another model? Is the R2R Warmer too recent to be included?
This DAC isn’t Roon Tested, and won’t be unless FiiO submit it for certification.
Nonethess, the majority of DACs are supported, and when connected via USB will advertise the capabilities to Roon. If the K17 has the same specifications, e.g., maximum sample rate etc., it’ll be fine. Otherwise, simply tweak the device settings in Roon.
