Description of Issue
I’m using a ZenBook Pro Duo UX582LR as my main controller. I like to filter albums by “date added” as I add quite a few albums from Qobuz and I find it easy to remember what I have added doing it that way however “date added” has stopped updating and is stuck in a moment in time. If I add albums they are in the library if I search for them by name, but they don’t appear using the “date added” filter (certainly not at the top anyway. I have 2698 albums and they may well appear somewhere down the list). Incidentally, I have tried another PC and all the albums appear as expected.
My other problem is tags. I ripped over 2000 CDs to server and very carefully and painstakingly tagged them all. Maybe it’s because I don’t know how Roon works but under “My Stuff” - “Tags” it says “You have no tags”. If I want to listen to music of a particular genre, where are the tags.
What you have under My Stuff are Roon tags. These are different from files tags. They are stored in the Roon database and are free-form pieces of information that you can added to albums, tracks, and artists. E.g., I have a tag for artists I have seen live, names of friends who recommended an album to me, etc.
File tags is information stored in the local files and concerned with stuff like album name, artists credits, genres, and lots of similar things that are information about albums/tracks. They get integrated into the related Roon information. How Roon shall treat them is configured in the Roon Settings > Library > Import settings, and Genre Mapping in the same place.
