Number of Tracks in Library

Itunes library with approx 23,000 tracks. Mp3, ALAC, AAC and WAV. 70 Playlists. Have itunes, Music Bee installed (never used). VLC Media player.

About 300 to 400 CDs ripped to a ALAC files on the external drive.

Description of Issue

I am on a paid first month trial. I am mostly concerned with Library management. I have a Tidal account that I can add if and when, I get the Library sorted.

Two problems, first all my ALAC files on the external drive show as corrupt. They won’t play but can be played in itunes. I do have a folder of files on the external drive converted from ALAC to FLAC. Have not tried those yet.

Number 2 Duplicate, triplets and quadruple playlist created from itunes Xml files residing on the c drive they have the same name but have a different number of track each.

I can’t manage this as it is a big mess. Any tips before I uninstall and keep trying others ?

I would first verify that your “watched” folder(s) does(do) not have duplicates of the files and playlists.
Make sure Roon “sees” only one set of files.

If you happen to have multiple versions of the same album. It’s easy to find them in Roon. In the album view. Click on Versions. Here it will show you the available versions and their location(s) in your storage.

In my example I have the CD myself stored on my Linux Roon Core, next to 2 options from Qobuz and Tidal.

I’ve recently ripped all my CD’s. But went for FLAC uncompressed as this is pretty much supported everywhere. Except for Apple’s own iTunes/Apple Music.

Hey @Ken_Izatt,

Ben with the support team here, I wanted to check in on this thread to see if you were able to get Roon up and running?

You have some good next steps here in case you haven’t tried them yet. If you could share a screenshot of your watched folders in your Roon settings, that would be helpful!
