Hello, Roon support team!

I have a bunch of albums in flac that won't play in Roon player on my Mac. Player just start skipping tracks and stops with "too much errors" message. I'm playing directly on my Mac from an external HDD, connected with a USB 3.0 directly. Flac files is playing perfectly in any other player I've tested, even in Mac Finder's preview. What it can be and how to fix this? I really love Roon and was planning to build an infrastructure around it, but things like this kinda killing the whole point. Hope we can solve this. Thank you.

Thank you for your post. We can see failures in diagnostics associated with your server and would like to attempt to reproduce with some of the affected files.

Do these files play on a non-System Output endpoint? Something that isn’t managed by Apple’s coreaudio, like a networked Zone.

Can you please share a screenshot of your Signal Path in Roon when these failures occur?

What is the origin of the affected FLAC files - were the converted with a third-party program from another file format, or downloaded directly as FLAC?

First of all, thank you for a lightning fast answer! Wow, you are right, they are playing just fine via my external dac and not via the system output. I’ve uploaded a few of problematic files, and then was going to take of a screenshot of my signal path, and find out that none of my music actually playing via the system output after switching back and forth to my external dac. So I’ve reboot my Mac and the problem is gone.

Terribly sorry to bother you for a such false case, I suppose. Still huge thank you for such fast and involved answer, now I’ve got even more trust in Roon. Have experience with other paid music services, where support do not answer me even after a year of waiting. Have a wonderful day!
