FLAC files from ripped CD not added to Roon library (ref#H9P7EE)

How can we help?

· I'm having trouble adding music to my library

Describe the issue

I have ripped a CD (Tea for the Tillerman) to the drive attached to my ROCK via USB. The FLAC files show up via Windows Explorer, and in Roon they show up in Folder view. However the CD is not showing up as added to library, even after a forced re-scan of the drive, and it does not show up in a search for Tea for the Tillerman. When I navigate to the folder using folder view, however, I can play the files.

Have you set the USB drives folder containing the CD rip as a watched folder?

Do you have other music on the USB drive that does show up?

Perform a reboot of your Rock machine.

Thanks for your response.

Yes it is a watched folder.
Yes other files on the drive show up.
I have rebooted ROCK…it did not show up right away, however when I just checked a couple of hours later, it was not showing up as added butit showed up in a search. When I made it primary version, it appeared in added.

So it eventually did show up, but took s lot of manipulation/time to do so. This is not normal based on my previous experience.

Is this a bug? Any suggestions ?

You’re right it’s not normal.

Did you by chance notice a red dot showing up on the hamburger menu button on you Roon remote device.

No I didn’t notice a red dot…just checked and nothing now. What would the red dot indicate?

Had you added this album from a streaming service previously?

Yes it was added from a streaming service previously.

Did you check that the CD rip wasn’t simply added to the Version tab of the existing streaming album?

Yes I did thanks.

Hi @Mark_Pocock,

Thank you for the report.

Please upload one of the affected FLAC files using this uploader. Our team will have a closer look. You can compress and upload the entire album as well.

In the meantime, restart RoonServer for due diligence. Thanks!

Files uploaded thanks!

Mark

Hey @Mark_Pocock,

Thanks for sending those over! Our team didn’t experience any issues importing the files into Roon - they showed up immediately under ‘added.’ This was with the album previously added via a streaming service as well.

Could you reproduce this issue and share the specific import date and time, and our team will take a deeper look into a fresh Roon Server diagnostic report?

With that, after import, could you also navigate to Roon Settings>Library>View Skipped files and Clean up Library, and check to see if the files ended up in either spot? Don’t perform a clean up library, just review it. :+1:

Lastly, do you have ‘show hidden tracks and albums’ toggled on?
