The Focus feature is now available in Roon ARC
If you’ve spent time exploring your library in Roon, you already know what Focus can do. It’s the tool that turns your entire collection into a precision instrument: filter your Albums, Artists, and Tracks browsers by genre, format, label, release year, performer credits, storage location, and more — combine filters freely, and invert them to exclude content rather than include. Today, all of that comes to ARC, and it works exactly the same way.
Focus is also available in the Composers and Compositions browsers, where it delivers unique value and power to classical listeners. Navigating a large classical library on mobile has always been a challenge — the sheer depth of repertoire, the number of composers, the overlap between periods and forms. Focus brings that under control. Filter composers by era or nationality, narrow compositions by genre, instrumentation, or period, and combine criteria to zero in on exactly what you’re looking for. Whether you’re exploring the Baroque repertoire in your library or tracking down a specific form across multiple composers, Focus gives you the tools to get there directly.
Tap the Focus button at the top of any browser to open the filter panel. Select your criteria, mix and match across as many dimensions as you like, and tap any active filter a second time to invert it. And then click the “Apply” button to apply these criteria to the browser.
While Focus “on the go” will require that ARC can connect to your server, the logic underneath is identical to Roon. The same filters, the same inversion behavior, across all five browsers. If you know Focus in Roon, you already know Focus in ARC.
