Hello @Joris_Latinne,

Thank you for reporting this and for the clear description so far.

To help us properly understand and investigate what you’re seeing, could you please provide a bit more detail about the behavior?

Specifically, it would be very helpful if you could clarify:

  1. What is happening right now (actual behavior)
  • Which Genres are selected in Focus?
  • What albums are being shown (or filtered out) when Match Any is selected?
  1. What you expect to happen instead (expected behavior)
  • How should the album list change when switching from Match All to Match Any in your view?
  1. Steps to reproduce
  • Starting from the Albums browser, what exact steps do you take to reach this result?
  • Does this happen consistently, or only with certain genre combinations?
  1. Additional context (if applicable)
  • Does the same behavior occur when using Focus in Tracks or Artists, or only under Albums?
  • Roughly how many genres are assigned to the affected albums?

This information will allow us to determine whether this is an expected interaction with how genres are assigned at the album level, or a potential bug that we should escalate for further review.

Thank you for taking the time to help us dig into this — we appreciate it.

  1. the behavior is that Match Any behaves like Match All and that is wrong; Match Any should allow you to select multiple genres without one exluding the other but this is not the case; if I put it on ‘Match Any’ and I select .e.g Pop/Rock, then all non Pop/Rock genres disappear; the behavior is identical with what happens when put on ‘Match All’; this is simply wrong and VERY easy to test and reproduce
  2. when on Match Any, it should be not a problem to select Genres Blues and R&B at the same time; this is not possible however; as stated before Match Any and Match All behave EXACTLY the same way on the Genre Focus; I cannot e.g. select Blues and Rock at the same time; it will allow me to choose Blues, after I have selected Rock, but that will ONLY show me the albums that have BOTH Genres flagged
  3. read above, should be a no brainer to reproduce, put it on Match Any and Match All and see that the behaviour is identical; try it on anything else than Genre e.g. Composer and you’ll see that the behavior is not the same and works as it should
  4. no, so far I have only seen this behaviour on Focus- Genre; this is not album related, this is a 100% pure BUG and nothing else
