The last two tracks on Saved by the Bell: The Collected Works of Robin Gibb 1968-1970 are properly credited to The Robin Gibb Orchestra & Chorus, but that’s not what’s in Roon’s database. So I edited the tags.
The edited tag will not show up.
Edits made about two weeks ago.
Example 2
Changed the cover art for Lucinda Williams’ Blessed album to match the LP the CDs came with.
Roon insists the file has an image embedded that is not embedded. It is also not present as an image file in the folder.
Lucinda Williams discs were ripped and files edited today.
Library is on a network drive.
For both, I have force rescanned library, album, and, where appropriate, tracks.
Changes do not appear for either, and, I would assume, for many others files.
For Robin Gibb, you are showing “Prefer Roon” for all track metadata. Have you tried switching to “prefer file”?
For Lucinda Williams, keep in mind that Roon doesn’t give a hoot about individual track artwork if you have artwork at the folder level (like Folder.jpg, etc.). Using a metadata editor, look for all possible embedded artwork in all files and delete it. Some metadata software show only one image per file, and other software can show multiple. Find software that shows all. Clear everything out, embed the artwork you want, and ensure there is a matching Folder.jpg. If that doesn’t work, you may need to clear Roon’s artwork cache on your device in Settings.

I followed the template, which requests import settings. I can’t change the artist to match the embedded tag.
This is the key picture:
The Robin Gibb Orchestral & Chorale is not even an option. I would have to manually add it within Roon to see it. But it’s right there in the tags for those two songs.
After reading your message, I did go ahead and switch everything to “Prefer file”, but it didn’t make any difference.

The image in the Lucinda Williams folder was the same as the one that is embedded and the one I wanted displayed. It wasn’t overriding the false embedded image, which is strange.
Just to be on the safe side, I deleted the image and rescanned the album.
I’m pretty sure I tried that, but I’ll restart now and check on it when I get home from work to see what, if anything, happened.
Replying to you also gives me the chance to note that I’m running ROCK on an Intel NUC. I update whenever it tells me to. I didn’t include that information in my initial post and should have.
I restarted the Roon server about 8:00 AM, checked again at 7:30 PM. It’s still the same.
I decided to take a closer look at the Robin Gibb files, to make sure I didn’t make an error.
I decided to use the “Copy file path to clipboard” feature to navigate to the file rather than going to the folder.
This was the file path copied:

OK, I thought you were sending me to the same template I filled out above, but I see that this is a different process with similar questions. I submitted again. Thank you.
