Music works fine with SONOS app
I thought it might be due to Hi res files (24/88, 172, 196) files, but drop out also occurs on standard 16/44 files as well.

Describe your network setup

2 Sonos speakers as listed above connected by cat5 ethernet to Netgear 16 port Gigabit Ethernet unmanaged switch, Model GS116v2. Switch is connected to Rogers Xfinity gateway modem.

What device is the roon server running on and where is it connected in your network setup. Is the server direct connect to the router or switch? If the server is connected to a switch try direct connection to the router.

Welcome to the community.

Hi, The Roon Server is running on My 27" iMac, 2020.and it is connected to my network via wall mount cat5 terminal. I have been playing music using Roon for past 5 hours and no drop outs noted.
I have 2 Sonos Speakers connected by Ethernet to same switch and 1 wireless speaker (Move). In the past I know my sonos speakers sometimes get confused and I have to unplug them then add them back in and it solved the drop out issue. I am hoping this is the case with Roon as well.

So far so good, but I won’t declare it “solved” until I get a couple of days of no drop outs.
Thanks for the advice I will try connecting direct to the router if I problem occurs again.

Hi @lry5556 ,

Thanks for reaching out and glad to hear that things have improved since your original post.

Yes, let us know how the system is performing once you’ve fully evaluated it and we can mark it as solved or continue troubleshooting, thanks!

Hi Noris, It has been 2+ days since we have noted any dropouts through the Sonos speakers. So let’s declare it solved.

Thank You
Larry
