Frequent crashes of Roon Server on Nucleus One during actions (ref#CAML2F)

Got the same problem here with my nucleus with almost same library size.
If increasing the memory is the issue, then the Nucleus prerequisities are not compliant to what we could expect from this box…

I finally upgraded the RAM memory to 16Gb and so far no crashes nor reboot and backup are finally finishing correctly.
40k albums and you must upgrade the memory of every Nucleus One. I would have appreciate Roon to give this information more clearly slight_smile:

40k albums or 40k tracks?

Hi @hashkey ,

The recommended max Nucleus One library size with stock memory is ~100k tracks.

Hi @noris, yeah thanks, if you look at the entire thread you’ll see a) I’m querying the number another user with similar problems to mine gave, and b) I’m encountering issues (as, perhaps, was @David_Voltz) Issues which may indicate that the 100k track guideline for Nucleus One might be, to say the least, overoptimistic.

I had a very positive impression of Roon for three years. Three months ago, however, I ordered a Nucleus One and since then* my experience has sucked.

Having just put this in writing I’m realising that it’s time to return the unit to the distributor and seek a refund. Please advise.

*Months waiting for the actual delivery, a ropey hardware experience, currently waiting for a cable that was despatched ten days ago so I’m without a server.

sorry Tracks

I received the SATA cable today so I’m back up and running- I’ve replaced the 4GB stick with a 16GB one (the box was already open and I had one to hand so it was hard to resist).

If the issue turns out to have been insufficient memory, the Nucleus One’s 100,000 track recommendation is somewhat misleading. If the issue is something else, it’s going back for a refund.

I’ve also noticed that my previous response to @noris went disregarded. The entire experience has been, to put it mildly, frustrating and disappointing.

I’ll report back.

Hi @hashkey,

It looks like you’ve encountered a known bug that our team is currently working to fix. In the meantime, I’m glad to hear that increasing the RAM helped improve things! Let us know if you run into any other issues—we’re here to help.
