I have always had issues with drop outs using roon and freezing while playing Qobuz or tidal with the software and I have a pretty decent computer as a core, I’ve never had issues with any BluOS systems on the same network. So I’m kinda at a loss if it’s the software or do I have to do something different with the computer running the core.
Thank you for your post. Diagnostic logging indicates that there is packet loss delaying the audio buffer in both the file download itself and the distribution to your Zones.
Local playback is failing because samples drop out before they reach networked endpoints. This causes the endpoint to re-request the missing parts; the buffer eventually can’t keep up with the stream.
With Tidal playback, we can see RoonServer reporting bandwidth drops as it attempts to download files.
You’ve mentioned a Ubiquiti network. Do you have any wireless connections between network nodes that are vulnerable to interference, even if your Roon hardware is all hardwired?
Verify that multicast forwarding and IGMP snooping are enabled. Try bypassing any mesh nodes and connecting RoonServer directly to the upstream router along for troubleshooting.
In the router settings, try prioritizing the IP address of your RoonServer machine in any QoS (quality of service) settings.
