Frequent freezes on Roon MacBook Air (ref#N198VY)

Roon on Macbook Air freezes frequently. It will work for awhile, but if I stop playing and navigate away I usually cannot bring the window back to the foreground and have to Force Quit the application to restart.

However, before I enable this feature, I’d like to ask for your help ensuring we gather the right information.

First, can you please reproduce the issue once more and note the time at which the error occurs. Then respond here with that time, and I’ll make sure we review the diagnostics related to that timestamp.

Thank you for your post. Force quitting will generally automatically generate an Apple Crash report. If you navigate to to the Apple menu > System Information > System Reports > Crash Reporter, do you see a report available for the latest freezes on Roon?

We additionally see two MacBook Airs in diagnostics, one of which is additionally running an active RoonServer instance. What is the OS number (15.3, etc.) of the MacBook Air that is experiencing this freezing behavior?

The MacBook Air with the issue is 15.3. I (think I) removed the Roon installation on the other Macbook Air this afternoon.

I’m not finding Crash Reporter; I’m not sure if I’ve ever told it to send the diagnostics to Apple. I will see if I can do that the next time it freezes.

FWIW, in a few hours this afternoon I did not reproduce the crash/freeze after removing Roon from my other Macbook Air. I will try again, but did not want to wait to share this. I’m not sure why that would matter, as the freezing Macbook has only ever been pointed at the Roon server on the Synology NAS that I use, but in case it helps prioritize your work, there you have it.

I have not seen the problem reoccur since removing an extraneous Roon Server on another Macbook in my network. You can close this issue. Thanks!
