Describe the issue
Roon drops have increased lately and I have tried every possible setting on router but nothing help
Describe your network setup
Set up includes spectrum modem and Deco x10 router! Sonictransport holds Roon and is hard wired to a Netgear box with new cables. ip address is 198.162.68.62 and Sonictransport is running updated software
Frequent dropouts like this usually come from instability somewhere between Roon Server and the network path to the playback device, so I’d like to narrow down where the interruption is happening. A solid starting point is our Networking Best Practices guide, which covers the network layout and settings we typically want to see for reliable playback.
Two things would help us sort this out:
What endpoint or zone is actually dropping out, and is it connected by Ethernet, WiFi, or both depending on the zone?
When the dropout happens, does playback stop for a moment and recover on its own, or does the zone disappear from Roon altogether?
If you can also share the exact local time + date + track when this next happens, we’ll enable diagnostics and look over logging. Thanks.
Just checking in on this. Have you had a chance to try the Networking Best Practices setup we mentioned, and can you tell us which endpoint is dropping out plus whether it is on Ethernet, WiFi, or both? If you can catch the next dropout, please send the local time, date, and track so we can line it up with the logs, and let us know whether playback pauses and recovers or the zone disappears entirely. We can take it from there, so please reply with any updates or questions.
Please note, if we don’t hear back from you this thread may close automatically soon. If the thread auto-closes and you need further assistance, please submit a reopen support request via the technical support help form below and specify that the issue should be reopened. Thank you.
