Hallo! I’ve recently redone my ROCK from scratch and everything is just now freshly imported. All good.
I sometimes have different versions of the same album. For example:
\AC/DC\Back in Black [CD]
\AC/DC\Back in Black [QBZ]
\AC/DC\Back in Black [VNL]\
These are all the same album, just from different sources (and I do have it set to recognize album versions in brackets).
Roon will sometimes merge all of those albums as one (in this case Back in Black), but with other similar albums it will display each one as an individual album. AC/DC - Live at Donington, for example:
I’d like to see all my albums with multiple versions instead of being displayed as one album.
Is there a way to do that? It’s just weird 'cause sometimes it does this and sometimes it doesn’t, and I can’t figure out what makes it happen and what doesn’t.
Turn off version grouping. Settings > General > Browsing Preferences > Show hidden tracks and albums > Yes
(If you preferred version grouping, you would set this to no, and if some are not auto-grouped, then select the albums together > (…) button > Edit > Group alternate versions)
I have no idea what happened, but I came back to Roon after leaving it alone for a while and found that all the albums are now separate entities. I guess it just needed some time to work itself out? No idea. Anyway, never mind, it’s just dandy now. Yay!
