I was wondering what the general interest is in supporting displays other then the current ones?
For example, like this one: 7.9" DSI IPS Capacitive Touchscreen Display for Raspberry Pi (400x1280) - The Pi Hut

I would like that, but with a “Matrix Audio”, “HiFi Rose” or “Eversolo” -like interface.

Personally, I am not a big fan of such a formfactor. I am affraid that the text (Titles, Artist, …) will become smaller and hence not so easy to read.
In other words, I am very pleased with the actual RPI-displays.

Personally, I couldn’t use a bigger screen, from a physical size persepctive.
My missing use case is actually for a small display powered over ethernet that I can mount for use with 3rd party Roon endpoint hardware (eg Bluesound for patio etc).
I can see this type of screen being used in some custom builds and looking awesome but it’s probably not something I’d be making use of myself.
A possible byproduct I might use would be a more configurable display layout (e.g. moving around screen objects to suit different screen orientations or use-cases).
Not something I would be lookin gto use. I am very happy with the current display.
Like was said above the possible display I would be interested in would be a smaller one with minimal or modifiable information.
I’d be interested in having roon controls and album art on this thingie Pimoroni Presto

The Pimoroni Presto does not have the necessary DSI-port for Raspberry Pi, so I don’t think this can be implemented into RoPieee.

I didn’t mean to say that it would be used as endpoint, just as a zone display
That was clear to me, but RoPieee is only displaying stuff via the DSI-port …

I think the aspect ratio would be very good for displaying the titles without constant scrolling.
